ZEELAND, Mich. (WOOD) – A western Michigan business is in turmoil after a social media post goes viral for all the right reasons.

Annie Hamstra and her team at Annie Lane Bridal in Zeeland were working on a new showcase last weekend when one of her employees came up with the idea to show off one of the models in a wheelchair.

The new design led to an improvised TikTok that has been touring the world for the past few days. Since its publication on Monday, the video has garnered over 300,000 views and over 59,000 likes.

But it’s the comments that put Hamstra at a loss for words.

“You must have a Kleenex box next to you when you read these comments because it touched so many people,” Hamstra told News 8. “It was such a small gesture on our part that turned into a huge thing for people all over the world What a blessing and what a surprise.

Hamstra says she hopes her story will spark more change and make the world more inclusive.

“I hope this hits someone in a little town in Mississippi,” she said, “and they have a wheelchair model in their storefront or someone in the UK or Australia and that is becoming more common practice. “
